Slice the apple into thick rounds and remove the core to form rings.
Whisk the egg, sugar and milk together in a bowl.
Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt and whisk until a smooth batter forms.
Heat cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Dip each apple ring into the batter so it is fully coated and place it in the hot pan.
Fry the apple rings until golden on the first side.
Turn the rings and cook the other side until golden and cooked through.
Mix a little sugar with cinnamon and lightly coat the warm apple rings before serving.
