Mix the ground beef with half of the onion, breadcrumbs, parmesan, salt, and black pepper, then shape into meatballs.
Bake the meatballs at 220°C / 425°F for 12 minutes until set.

Cook the remaining onion and garlic in olive oil, add tomato paste and tomatoes, simmer briefly, then return the meatballs to the sauce and bake at 200°C / 400°F for 10 more minutes.
