Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Add chicken pieces to the pan and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add rice and stir for 1 minute to coat with oil.
Add 300 ml of water, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 5 minutes before serving.
