Slice potatoes thinly and parboil in salted water for 8 minutes, then drain.
Brown ground beef with cooking oil, onion, garlic, salt, and black pepper for 8 minutes.
Add chopped tomatoes and simmer for 7 minutes until thick.
Whisk sour cream with egg and a pinch of salt for the topping.
Layer potatoes, beef sauce, sour cream topping, and mozzarella, then bake at 190C / 374F for 28 minutes.
