Halve the cherry tomatoes and mince the garlic.
Boil penne in salted water for 11 minutes until al dente.
Cook garlic and cherry tomatoes in cooking oil for 4 minutes, then add tomato sauce and simmer for 6 minutes.
Toss penne with the sauce, basil, salt, and black pepper.
