Use ready pumpkin puree or cook and blend pumpkin until smooth before starting the batter.
Beat the eggs with sugar until foamy, add the vegetable oil and pumpkin puree, then mix in the flour, salt, baking powder and cinnamon until smooth.
Grease the baking dish with butter, pour in the batter and bake until the cake is cooked through.
Beat the softened butter, then beat in the cream cheese and powdered sugar until the frosting is smooth. Spread it only over the completely cooled cake.
