Pat scallops dry, slice mushrooms, and mince garlic.
Boil spaghetti in salted water for 10 minutes.
Sear scallops in cooking oil for 2 minutes per side, then remove.
Brown mushrooms for 6 minutes, then add garlic and butter for 1 minute and toss with spaghetti, scallops, salt, and black pepper.
