Lightly grease the inside of the ramekin with a tiny bit of butter.
Preheat your oven to 160C/325F.
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, milk, and a tiny pinch of salt until well combined.
Pour the mixture through a fine strainer into a ramekin for a smooth texture.
Place the ramekin in a larger baking dish and pour hot water into the dish until it reaches halfway up the side of the ramekin.
Bake in the center of the oven until the custard is set but still slightly jiggly in the middle.
