Clean mussels and mince garlic and basil.
Boil penne in salted water for 11 minutes.
Cook garlic in cooking oil for 1 minute, then simmer tomato sauce and diced tomatoes for 6 minutes.
Add mussels, cover for 5 minutes, then toss with penne, basil, salt, and black pepper.
